Twitmart defines a set of pre-established hashtags to use for it's "built-in" categories (classified ads sections). The default hashtags are:
- #forsale: Items or property you have for sale, offered for purchase, usually with a $ price and location.
- #services: Trade your service or expertise. Yellow Pages or CV are good examples. List attributes of your business, availability info, location, range of services etc.
- #help: Something you want or personally need assistance for. Usually relates to time, money, support, an introduction, labor or learning.
- #donate: Request for time, money or both to move a cause or action ahead. May also be a gesture or appeal for support. Important to disasters, and where people are in critical need.
- #fixit: Reference to things that are broken, not working, need service or are unresponsive. Includes complaints, items requiring customer service and rants. Posts where resolution of an outstanding issue is required. Usually outside the individuals power to solve on their own.
- #personals: Share personal desires and activities. Often for romance, friendship, meetup or support, also for groups. ASL often used, location, type of exchange and location
Using the standard Twitmart categories, makes it easier for people to find your Twitter classifieds.
When Twitmart imports a Tweet which has more than one hashtag it will always prefer the "built-in" hashtag.
Additional hashtags may be added over time and dependent on demand. We recognize that some traders may want to use their own hashtags and thus start their own category. See custom categories.
